I offer individualized instruction that takes into account the goals and learning style of the student. I have experience teaching a variety of ages and levels. Being a piano teacher is very rewarding because I have the privilege of helping my students grow musically and achieve their personal goals in a way that is supportive and encouraging. I have a BA in Music from the University of Oregon. My studio is in Mount Vernon. I enjoy teaching because it is a learning experience for me as well. I also enjoy using different ways of teaching that correspond to the individual student's learning style.

I'm currently deployed, but we were able to schedule a time that worked for her and my husband via e-mail. She works with his schedule and my son loves her. He has taken to playing and practicing really well and he can't wait for his weekly appointments! Her price is amazing and definitely affordable.

I've never played an instrument in my life nor did I know how to read music, Heather helped me really start off on a good foot by teaching me the basics and making sure I understood them well before moving on. She was very thorough in her teaching and answering all my questions. She made me feel comfortable and was a great teacher. Looking forward to working with her again in the future!

Heather is a very patient, talented, and thoughtful piano instructor. She came to our house as we had a piano in our home, although we had the option of having lessons in her home if we wished. My son had no previous experience, which was fine as Heather is great with all levels. She even brought him some easy Star Wars music to try as she knew he was a fan. Fantastic experience!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My piano lessons are $25 for a half-hour lesson, or $30 for a 45 minute lesson. Most students take weekly lessons, and payment is due for the entire month on the first lesson of the month.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free, no obligation "Meet & Greet" session to talk with and get to know a prospective student and allow them to get to know me and ask any questions they might have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played the piano for over 40 years, and have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of Oregon, in Eugene. I have also studied the Taubman method, which is a technique of playing that will help to prevent overuse injuries. I am a member of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) Skagit Valley Chapter.
