FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates vary by project type. General repairs and maintenance start at $75/hr. Finish carpentry runs $95–105/hr. Larger projects — remodels, decks, fencing, awnings — are quoted as flat project bids so you know the total cost upfront before any work begins. On-site estimates are $125, waived if you hire me for the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a conversation — either by phone or I come out to see the job in person. Once I understand the scope, I put together a written estimate. You review it, ask questions, and sign off before any work starts. I communicate throughout the job and don't disappear between visits. Payment is due on completion for most jobs; larger projects may use a staged payment schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a third-generation builder. My grandfather and my father were both accomplished contractors - they gave me the genes and generational insights as a youth that I continue to add to today. In later years, I apprenticed under three different construction contractors which taught me professionalism, and I've also worked independently for a long time gaining raw experience. Cumulatively I have well over a decade in professional construction, carpentry, handyman work, and maintenance. I come from a family of hardworking, hands-on people, and that's shaped how I approach every job.
