FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are always obsessively reading everything out there, attending webinars, looking towards industry leaders for inspiration, and critiquing each others work. We talk to our colleagues, friends and family about our work. Our belief is we can always be improving.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
One of us started out as a journalist, another believed in clean code and well crafted framework and has been freelancing since college. We wanted to make the web a better place for people to be. So much of what we we're seeing was really unappealing. We knew we could do a better job, and we loved solving the problems our friends and early clients brought to us. We founded Tiller Labs shortly after working together for the first time. And, hey, it's really fun!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Our industry is swamped with "bottom-of-the-barrel" bidders. A lot of people offer to do websites for next to nothing. A cheap website is like a cheap car. They may get you where you need to go, but over time they break down, need work, and they don't leave a good impression (especially on Google). If you want your website to work as a marketing tool, treat it as an investment, and research the product before you buy.
