Introduction: *** $20 introductory lesson (includes consultation) is available now!! *** Hi, I'm Yoko. I'm a native Japanese speaker, born in Japan. I attended school and college in Japan. Now, I am living in the States with my family. Being a native Japanese, I am a fluent speaker of all levels of the Japanese language. I've been teaching the Japanese language for three years (since 2019). I became a certified Japanese language teacher in March 2020. I have also been teaching English as a second language for six years. I understand the challenges of learning a second language and I'm able to help students keep moving forward. In the lessons, we will have discussions in English (as needed), but will always focus on progressing in Japanese language conversation. As always, we will try to have fun lessons so that you can relax and enjoy each lesson without pressure. We will discuss and adjust the class schedule as necessary to make a customized plan that fits your needs. All of the courses include some Japanese cultural education as well; this assists you as a student, as the Japanese language cannot be fully mastered without an understanding of the culture. Beginner and starting students are welcome, as well as younger school-age children, 11 years and older, are welcome. (A new group lesson is a good deal)  Please ask me any questions you may have. Having lessons with Yoko has been one of my best decisions. I’ve been wanting to learn Japanese for years but quickly figured out I couldn’t do it alone or just with duolingo. She is very thorough with her lessons and all around an amazing teacher, would absolutely recommend getting lessons from her! ありがとうございます！

I would give 500 stars if I could. I was on a search for a tutor when my daughter requested Japanese lessons. Yoko’s immediate communicate was great and I can tell that she’s excited for those that want to become acquainted with Japanese. Her lessons are methodical and conducted with care and excitement. I highly, highly recommend. My daughter as enjoyed everyone lesson and I looked forward to her teaching us what we knows so that we can have small discussions with her at home.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
*** Group lesson (a minimum of two students) *** If you bring your family, friends, and neighbors with you, the fee is $32/60min per person. You and the additional students will take lessons at the same time and have to be at the same/similar Japanese language level. *** $20 introductory private lesson (includes consultation) is available now!! *** The private lesson fee is $50/45 min. When you purchase 10 lessons, I will give you one free lesson (10 Lessons + 1 complementary lesson). Lessons expire 91 days after payment, with no refund. 1 online, 45-minute lesson = $50 11 online, 45-minute lessons = $500 Also, I will give you a 10% discount for the second sibling, and an additional free lesson when you invite your friends. Please ask me for the details.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will always ask new customers the purpose (or goal) of why they want to learn the Japanese language, and discuss with them and evaluate their current Japanese level, so that I may construct the best possible personalized lesson plan.

Japanese as a Second Language Teaching Certificate. Teaching experience since 2015. Japanese education through college level.
