Introduction: I offer lessons for all brass/woodwind, and some percussion instruments for beginners and intermediate players. I can also teach how to read music and read rhythms if you/your child has no experience. I have a degree in Music Education K-12, three years teaching experience, and two years teaching experience to high school students with Autism. Additionally, I have 18 years experience on brass instruments, 8 years experience on woodwind and percussion. Each lesson will be individualized to your, or your child's specific needs! $50 for one hour lessons, $30 for 30 min lessons We can work out location of lesson, but I might have to charge more for a location far from me. Teaching music is my passion! I love giving lessons to students and making music fun. I enjoy offering very personalized education for each student. I can teach at any ability level, and have a great ability to adjust any concept for all levels and abilities. My favorite part in teaching is watching the student grow and learn, and I know from experience that if retention and growth isn't happening, it is never because of the student--it is because of the teacher. As I've mentioned before, teaching music is my passion. Its what I'm meant to do. I'm always happy when I teach music and can see even the tiniest growth in a student.

Elise is a deeply considerate teacher who takes the time to teach to each individual student's level. She is consistently prepared for her lessons and adapts naturally when classes detour. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$50 for an hour, plus $5 for over 10 miles travel (for any lesson) $30 for 30 min $40 for 45 min
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask your experience first and foremost. I might quiz you on the basics like reading music and rhythms, or music theory. This will let us form a base of where to start (I don't want to teach you what you already know, that's boring). After that, I will give you a playing test to find out where to start, and WHAT to start working on in lessons. After that, I will give my recommendation on concepts we should be working on, where your weak spots are, your strengths, and combine all that with what you want to be working on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Music Education K-12, and am certified to teach music in the state of Washington. I have three years experience teaching music--one year teaching beginning band, and two years teaching music to high school students with Autism. I have 18 years experience on brass instruments (with the French Horn being my major instrument), 8 years experience playing woodwind and percussion instruments.
