Michelle is the best attorney I have ever met! I had another run-in with the law about 10 years ago and didn't have a good experience with the lawyer I hired. Michelle is different. She really cared about me and my case and spent a lot of time talking through everything and letting me know what was going on and what my options were. Based on my old conviction, I was expecting to really have that held against me. But Michelle looked at this case by itself and saw that there were some real problems with the evidence and she ended up getting some evidence excluded. After that, she had the case reduced to a misdemeanor and I didn't spend a day in jail!Apr 15, 2015
I did quite a bit of research online for a good attorney/firm and ended up looking on Thumbtack because I found a great plumber on here before! Got 5 replies and I ended up reaching out to two of them. First spoke with another attorney and then with Court. Night and day difference! I could tell just by the free consult that I was in good hands. I hired Court (and his wife Michelle) and was always able to get all my questions answered throughout the whole process. Even more importantly, they got me an excellent outcome on my case. I'm not comfortable getting in to details on an online review like this, but I'll just say I'm extremely happy and I hope I'll never need a criminal defense attorney again but if I do, I know who to call!Feb 12, 2017
I was charged with causing serious harm to my own child (not even two years old). My child was injured, but it was a complete accident. The "forensics" performed by the state somehow made them to belive it was on purpose. I was referred to Court from a friend who had a DUI and gave him a call. He immediately made me at ease from our first conversation. We hired our own expert who was way better than the states expert. We thought the report from our expert should have been enough to get the case dismissed but we had to go through a 8 day trial where Court did an amazing job. The jury came back with "not guilty" in less than 1 hour! Now I have no criminal record and kept my family together.Apr 10, 2015
I am both a licensed stockbroker and real estate agent. I did something incredibly dumb that put both of these licenses, not to mention my livelihood and reputation, at risk. Even though Im not providing my full name here, I still do not want to go into much detail about the incident, as it is incredibly embarrassing. I will say that I was accused of exposing myself but when I did it, it was never my intent for others to see me or be offended by my actions. Unfortunately, the District Attorney did not see it this way. Stuck with the possibility of having to register as a sex offender for the rest of my life, I began searching for an attorney. I consulted with four different lawyers. Court stood out head and shoulders about the rest. His demeanor and caring attitude immediately put me at ease. He immediately formed and shared an excellent strategy with me to convince the prosecutor that all the elements of the crime were not present. He also advised me to collect a number of letters from people vouching for my good character; it was difficult to obtain these, as I didnt want to reveal why I needed the letters, but I am glad I did it because they were very helpful. In the end, Court was fully prepared to go to trial, but literally a few days before we were set to pick a jury Court called me with the best news Ive ever heard. He had another meeting with the prosecutor and her supervisor and they agreed to dismiss the primary charge in exchange to a plea to a very minor charge that had no effect on my livelihood or record. In exchange, I had to perform a lot of community service. I ended up doing my community service at a local food bank, and the funny thing is I still volunteer there to this day. I cannot say enough good things about Court. He is an outstanding attorney and I owe him everything.Apr 11, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We charge flat fees for representation. We have two primary types of agreements for pending cases: a pre-trial retainer, and then when needed, a trial retainer. The reason we break it up like this is due to the fact that the vast majority of cases do not end up going to trial; thus the trial retainer is often not even needed. We also have separate retainers for other matters such as cleaning up your criminal record. If experts and/or investigators need to be hired, then this is a separate fee that our clients pay directly to the third party. The vast majority of the time, our clients come out far ahead of the game with flat fee agreements when compared to hourly agreements. The reason for this is simple. If we were to charge an hourly rate, it would be in the hundreds of dollars and we would literally have to charge you for every single minute we spend working on your case. This would include commuting time, time sitting around in court waiting for your case to be called, the time it takes to write motions/prepare an argument the list goes on an on; before you know it, you are paying thousands more than you would have under a flat fee agreement. Flat fees also make things clearer for our clients. You never have to worry about getting an unexpected legal bill in the mail; rather, you know up front what the charges are going to be. Lastly, its easier for us rather than watching the clock, we can simply focus on your defense.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Our negotiation and trial skills are a force to be reckoned with. We are dynamic in front of a jury and do not back down at the negotiation table. In addition to having experience conducting jury trials from both the prosecution and defenses perspective, we regularly hone and improve our skills through continuing education at seminars, workshops, and lectures. We help one another by conducting mock cross-examinations and discussing tactics for all cases. Overall, our high level of legal skills are a major asset; it is one of the reasons we are able to obtain the best possible outcome for our clients.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?In addition to competence, one of the most important things is to find someone you are comfortable with. Being charged with a crime can be a frightening experience and if you are uncomfortable talking with your attorney, then it will just make your experience that much more difficult to get through.
