Introduction: I'm deeply passionate about learning and see myself as a lifelong student of music. Teaching is integral to my musical identity, allowing me to gain a profound understanding of effective practice through my ongoing work with students. Exploring the journey of skill improvement is a lifelong fascination, and I consider it a privilege to assist individuals in enhancing their musical connection through dedicated practice. I studied at Berklee College of Music before moving to Austin, Texas where I completed my undergraduate studied at UT Austin, earning a B.M. in Jazz Performance. During my time in Austin, I performed 150-200 dates a year in a number of different styles and ensembles. In 2017, I began teaching at Colorado Academy in Denver Colorado where I developed a guitar program from the ground up. During my tenure there, I taught well over 100 students, some of whom have gone on to pursue careers in music. In 2022 I released my first album as a leader titled "Human Resource" which is available on all streaming platforms. I am currently pursuing my masters in Jazz and Improvised music at the University of Washington where I also serve as a teaching assistant in Jazz History.

Exactly what I was looking for when starting a new instrument- tried electric guitar for the first time and couldn’t figure out where to move forward. Andrew helped create lessons that fit my goals and I was able to focus on specific tasks every week that really increased my motivation and pushed my improvement.

Details: 18 - 25 years old • No formal training • No, cannot read music • Electric • Rock • Classical • Yes, the student has an instrument • 30 minutes • My home, venue, etc. • At the pro’s location

Free consultation got us aligned and started on the right foot. 1st lesson was on task and flexible. Andrew knows music and is able to connect concepts from many angles. He was careful to understand what I already knew and push for expanding where I had blanks.

Andrew Friedrich was professional from the very start. He listened to our desires and music wishes and made it all come to life during our small and intimate wedding. For our wedding march, we requested a song Andrew hadn't played before. Weeks before the wedding, he sent us his personal arrangement of the song and it was PERFECT! Andrew played a wonderful playlist of music, he was friendly with guests who approached him, he was very kind, and we can't wait to invite him back!

Andrew worked with both my children this past school year. We had an amazing experience. Creative, dependable, prompt, flexible, patient and fun - everything that you would expect from someone that you entrust your children with. Looking forward to a great summer and another year with Friedrich Music.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I offer 30 minute lessons for $50, 45 minutes for $60 and 60 minute lessons for $75.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I'm constantly taking notes on the things that I'm listening to and practicing. I also keep detailed notes on my students for the sake of their own progress and other future students.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I take my job very seriously and expect my students to put in a daily effort outside of the lesson time. Clients should not seek to enroll in lessons unless they are ready to put in at least 10-20 minutes of practice per day.
