- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Qualify before you buy! In order to protect yourself, request a proposal outlining the deliverables, terms and conditions and payment terms for your project. Most providers will request a deposit or payment milestones as the project progresses but be wary if youre asked to pay in advance. Our industry is filled with incredibly talented designers freelancing. Its incredible because it allows the buyer access to thousands of designers and web developers at significantly competitive rates. The downside is not all freelancers share the same work ethic and when a problem arises, some disappear off the face of the earth. This can be detrimental if youre in the middle of a website build. Weve had a multitude of clients approach us completely desperate because their website is only half finished and the developer no longer answers the phone. Reviewing the designer or developers portfolio of recent work to check for well functioning websites will be your best assurance you will receive high quality work.
