Introduction: Seattle is one of the fittest towns I've ever encountered in the summer. As soon as those rain clouds appear, we sink into our couches and commence hibernation. Many of my clients come to me with weight-loss goals after they've packed on the winter pounds. Others seek out strength training to augment their race training. Whether you have elite fitness goals or simply want to feel better when doing simple movements, I can help you get there. As your trainer, I will be your teacher, your cheerleader, and your insistent habit that will see you to your goal. An NSCA certified personal trainer, Melissa has been changing people's lives since 2006. Combining her knowledge of functional movement training, TRX, kettlebells, and her background in yoga, her clients receive specialized programs that are designed to safely achieve their goals. She is also certified in pre/postnatal fitness and by Nautilus Cycling Institute.

I have been trying to teach myself to run for almost four years now. I have participated in 5Ks, obstacle runs, lots of walking, but not so much running. I always felt accomplished having finished, but also disappointed knowing that i could improve. I've tried various couch to 5k programs, but always have given up barely able to run more than a minute at a time after a month of attempting the program. I finally decided to look into working with a personal trainer, and I am so glad that I did. My sessions are always challenging, but fun and rewarding. I started barely able to run thirty seconds at a time. I am pleased to say that in only a couple of months I can now run for four minutes straight! I feel myself getting stronger and stronger every week! Each of my sessions are tailored specifically for me, my goals, and my body. I have never felt so strong. Melissa Charlton is an excellent motivator and trainer.

Melissa has trained me through many levels of fitness as well as worked with me through injury and back to full strength on the injured joints. I started working with her in 2009 after my husband went for a fitness evaluation with her. He, basically, wanted to know if she did the same training routine with each client. Well, after my fitness evaluation, I got a completely different workout. Melissa tailors each workout to each individual - AND she doesn't keep the workout the same if the individual has an injury or is training for a triathlon, like I am, now. My goal is to be in the best shape of my life at 40 (I'm 36, now), and to be able to do as many activities as I want in retirement, such as skiing, hiking, swimming, biking, etc. She definitely changed my life and my outlook on what I can achieve with my body. I have gained over 12 pounds of muscle training with her, and I definitely look better than I did when I was younger! I am also an avid triathlete, and I no longer think, "I can't do that!" when someone asks me to go hiking, bouldering, etc. because thanks to Melissa, I CAN!!! She is amazing and motivating. I highly recommend working with Melissa to reach your goals!

Melissa is very enthusiastic and supportive. She always has different things for us to do in circuit training so I don't get bored and she always pushes me.
