FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
You will find that many pet sitters charge separately for each walk, feeding, medication dispense, playtime, I even saw one who charges for cuddling! Lol... My goal is for your pets to have an anxiety and stress free experience while you must be separated and my reasonable daily rates cover doing everything I can to achieve that goal. You tell me what their routine and level of activity is, and I will keep their daily lives running as usual for them.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I want you to relax and enjoy your time away, and if you do also, then we both need to be sure that, as your petsitter, I am capable of making appropriate health, safety and security decisions about your pets and/or your home on your behalf. This means we have to know if we think about the same things and view them with the same urgency given the same or similar circumstances, so that we can all feel comfortable with the arrangements. Whether this means knowing what action to take when you are just a phone call away, when you can't be reached on a 12 hr flight, or what issues can't wait for you even when i know you will be checking in with me once you've arrived - we must be on the same page! And when you decide to ditch the gadgets and spend a month deep in some South American jungle... well, I'm going to hope that we have been successfully working together for a while before that trip happens! I wouldn't just hope I can live with the consequences of someone's best judgment when it comes to my pets and my home... YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER! My process of working with new customers involves both parties getting to a point where they know and trust that the person hired can and will act as the client would want them to in as many scenarios as we can all think of!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Let's see, I was a Mathematics major in college and am a Software Engineer by trade. I escaped Microsoft (mostly unharmed) about 10 years ago. I've had the fortunate experience of caring for an aging loved one since that time. So, I guess I'd have to say, absolutely none!
