FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge $35 per hour, though I'm always willing to negotiate, especially if you would like to book beyond a 6 or 8 week session. This fee includes worksheets, treats training aids and the occasional doggy bag. I'm located on Harstine Island, near Shelton, so anything within 20 miles of the island would be a $5 flat fee for travel expenses, beyond that I'd need to charge an additional fee.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I try to stay as up to date as possible with the latest developments in dog psychology and behavior so I can bring a variety of techniques to my clients and help them to find the best solution that fits their individual needs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been doing work with dogs ever since I was a child. I moved to a commercial dog/cat boarding kennel when I was 5, and since have been involved in all aspects of the pet care industry, such as boarding, dog daycare, training and grooming. I've also handled show dogs and had a bit of experience in dog sledding. I also have extensive experience with horses and farm animals, as well as small animals and exotics.
