Northwest Flooring LLC did a fantastic job refinishing my hardwood floor!
A few years ago, I started searching for contractors to refinish my ¾” hardwood floor, about 510 square feet of 20-year-old, 2½” wide birch with beveled edges and a shiny, factory-applied Swedish finish, both of which I wanted removed. Several contractors provided estimates. Some said it would be very costly to sand down past the bevel channels. Others said it was impossible to refinish and that I should simply replace it, which was not an option for us.
Only 2 of the 9 contractors I spoke with seemed to actually want the job. One was 50% higher than the other. Based on that and their nothing-but-5-star ratings, I ended up hiring Vlad Prokhor at Northwest Flooring LLC. He was not the least bit fazed by the amount of work it would take to remove the toxic finish and dirt-collecting bevels and promised to provide the look and finish we wanted. And best of all, his pricing was extremely competitive.
His crew arrived at 8:30 Monday morning and worked tirelessly all day. They marked and removed the baseboard shoe trim, fixed a hole where the fridge was, and hung plastic sheeting for dust control. They sanded first with a large belt sander, then with a smaller handheld device for thresholds, and finally by hand in corners, under toe kicks, and other difficult-to-reach spots. They swept up the dust and debris, buffed the rough finish until it was very smooth, then applied two clear coats, which needed 2 days to dry. The crew left around 6 pm. Vlad and another crew member returned Wednesday morning to buff it out again and apply another clear coat. All in all, Vlad and his entire crew were very professional and did an outstanding job!
The floor looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The natural color is stunning, and the matte finish with a very slight sheen is beautifully contemporary! It turned out so much better than we anticipated. My husband, who’s extremely hard to impress, is still gushing over how fantastic the floor looks and what a great job they did. I have nothing negative to say about Vlad, his crew, and Northwest Flooring LLC. I’m so happy and relieved to have found and hired them!

Hire them. I did deep research, received three quotes, and decided to go through with them. I am a very strict, good value, great quality home fixer whom does majority of the fixing up myself. At a GREAT value, they took floor that others said was “not worth fixing“ and made them a masterpiece. The other companies either didn’t want to do the work and instead recommended replacing the floor, or would do the work but at 3X the cost. The floor is Douglas fir (1901 home) with the medley of complications: painted, stained/Swedish finish, unfinished, oil, spot, gaps, splintering boards, vent holes, and creaky. They patched the two inactive vent holes, replaced 14 boards (reclaimed wood, Ballard Reuse), stain, buffed, topcoat. I will recommend them till my dying breath.

Northwest flooring is a team of brothers that do amazing work. I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of the work they did. We had serval areas of our hardwood floors that needed repair and matching the rest of the floors was going to be a challenge.
