FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $75 per hour. My rates are higher then others as I have a contractors license as well as bonding and insurance. I also include a 1 year warranty on my workmanship. I prefer to bid jobs based on a set fee vs doing work by the hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically bid the jobs at a fixed cost. Depending on the size and complexity of the job, I will need as many pictures and details as possible. More complicated jobs will require site visit to bid.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. After graduation, I worked as a construction professional for 14 years, managing large and complex projects ranging from custom homes to schools and multiple large apartment complexes. I held a variety of management roles—from Project Engineer to Superintendent, and eventually Project Manager. This taught me the means, methods, and sequencing of every step in the construction process. Prior to attending university, I worked in the field across a wide range of trades, which gave me hands-on experience with the practical aspects of building. As both a homeowner of an older house and a handyman, I’ve also gained valuable experience in the maintenance and repair side of property management. In addition, I have extensive training and certification in waterproofing and construction safety, including First Aid/CPR, OSHA 30, confined space entry, fall protection, and more.
