Absolutely horrible experience dealing with this company and not only it's employees, but it's owner (Monte) as well. I would give them negative stars if the review would let me!!! Don't ever use this company unless you enjoy being over charged and ripped off. I purchased my entire (over priced) system from Cougar in 2014. I paid 30,000 for a 5 ton unit and 2.5 ton unit. Talk about way over priced!! Not only did they rape me on their costs, but it was nothing but headaches dealing with them the entire time. The worst part has been dealing with them on a warranty issue. Called and requested a tech come out and look at the unit since it seemed the fan motor was not turning on. The tech turned out to be an idiot and he actually dumped refrigerant on the ground stating the lines were too full!! This also seemed to be something that made the owner (Monte) very upset and he actually threatened me and cursed me out for even bringing it up. After the tech had come out I received a call from Tyler telling me that I needed over 8800 dollars in repairs done to the unit for a motherboard, new lines, and saying the unit needed to be reset on the pad cause it was knocked over. I immediately went to my property to inspect this damage only to find the unit was just as I had left it. The fan motor was still not working. At this point I began talking directly with Monte (owner) of Cougar to try and find out what was going on. Through many excuses and threats from Monte, it came down to Cougar was not going to be performing any warranty work on my system. So not only will I be leaving this review, but I will also be contacting Carrier, but also the city of Airway heights and Spokane County to report the refrigerant being dumped directly onto the ground. Now then, I will leave some helpful advice for any others reading these reviews!! CALL SCOTT @ ABC MECHANICAL 5094756260, This company and service tech came out and was able to fix what Cougar couldn't do in under an HOUR. The problem was a faulty motor on the condenser fan and he replaced and got my unit up and running in under an hour!! DON'T USE COUGAR MECHANICAL!!!

I can not believe how rude the two people on the phone were to me both ladies hung up on me I had Bob out to work on my furnace last Dec he took the part with him so that he could order the new one. I never dot a call as to how much it would cost to fix it so I forgot about it heater works but runs twice as long as it should, So last week I called to see how much the part was and was told they would call me back no call Monday I called again oh Bob is out sick will see what we can find out from him. Katie called me back yesterday hes out on disability for a few weeks ok thats fine but I need my part back so she calls me gives me the part number and model number which is helpful but I would have liked my part back. So I ask Katie can someone else in there office do it she says no and hangs up on me. So this morning I call someone else to get a $$ on the repair ask him if he could work on my furnace yes no problem tell him why he says anyone should be able to work on my furnace so then I call talk to Amy in the office at Cougar to find out when I had Bob out she gives me the date I got to answer she hangs up on me before I am done talking. OK Cougar Mechanical I will not be giving you any references not sure what I did to warrant such bad behavior form you but I didnt appreciate the rudeness

I have had the pleasure of working with cougar mechanical on both of my homes. I received excellent customer service from Katie, Tyler and Amy. They have helped me out when my furnace went out in the winter and had us up and running with heat in no time at all. We have had them replace two furnaces, air purifier, whole house humidifier, and a water heater. We also had them clean all of our air ducts. Tyler made sure we got top quality products at great prices. They also went above the call of duty and made sure we received all of the available rebates and filed them for us. I highly recommend this company and will continue to use them for service and future purchases in the need arises.

The installation was great. The installers were wonderful to work with. We paid over 50% down to start the job and when we got the first invoice 3 months later our money was not credited to the account. We asked to have it credited and they refused. They sent another invoice with the balance hand-written on the body. Again we asked to have the money applied and were told no and too just pay the balance written in. I am sorry but no one should ever pay a contractor the balance from a hand written note. We also had to ask several times for the filters that were promised as they brought the wrong size originally. We finally got them 5 month later. While talking with the owners and trying to resolve these issues they were nothing but rude, belligerent and simply unprofessional. The owner actually called me at 7:30am yelling at me that he was "pissed" that I hadn't paid him. He also yelled several times "Do you know who I am?" Seriously? Then told me that he knew what I did for a living and he knows a lot of people and word gets around. At that point I terminated the call. I can only surmise that there are some underlying issues that have nothing tip do with me, other than I refused to give them more money until the properly credit my account with the funds we already gave them. Some people just cannot admit to making a mistake and result to badgering, bullying and lying to make themselves look better. Extremely unfortunate and highly unprofessional. Only because of the interaction we had with the owners, I will never recommend thus company.
