Hired on Thumbtack
I have an ad here on thumbtack (face painter), I needed to have some work done at my home, so I thought I would try using thumbtack. I received 7 bids. Most of them were very nice and seemed knowledgeable, however, Ken stood out from the rest and I chose him to do the work for me. What is nice about thumbtack is that they check them out so we as the consumer can feel a little safe in the options that we have for the workers. I chose him because I needed some marble work done and I figured that even though all of the men said they could do the work, Ken specialized in marble and tile work. I am happy that I did. The work was good, I liked that he brought his son to help with the job. and both he and his son were very polite and eager to make sure I was pleased with the job. An issue that is certainly a deal breaker for me is if they clean up their mess when they are done, Ken cleaned up after the first day and the second day. I was so pleased with the work he did, I asked him to do some more tile work in the kitchen. It is so beautiful. What a difference it made to the room.
One other thing that I want to say is that he does things a little different and that is that he has you purchase all of the materials, At first I thought that was a little odd, but now I kind of like it because I can see REALLY how much the materials cost and I am in control over any returns and what all goes into the job. When I decided to add the kitchen into the job he went with me and helped me choose the tile that would enhance the room , I felt that was above and beyond....true customer service. He offered me to use his contractor license, but at Lowes, the lady said there isn't any difference in the cost I would be happy to recommend anyone to feel comfortable in using this man for work in your home. Thanks to Ken we recently had a quick turn around on a tile job we had done in a rental bathroom. This bathroom is in an older renovated brick tutor so the job needed to be done nice, timely and economically. He did all of that and more! We weren't going to tile up some of the walls, but he suggested we do that and WOW it looks wonderful and for very little more. He goes above and beyond. I would recommend Ken to anyone.

I highly recommend Ken for any tile and stone work to be done. I had Ken Smith remodel both my bathrooms with marble tile, and installing granite counter tops. His craftmanship is world class, he's so easy to work with, and was totally willing to work with me to meet all my needs.
He took so much extra care in installing all the tile, and the bathrooms came out beautiful, definitely world class work. I definitely could see in his workmanship the extra attention to detail and the time and care he took to make sure the tile is laid out in the most visually appealing manner possible. He listens to my needs and takes extra care to make my vision a reality.
Ken is super easy to work with, and very accomodating. There are always road blocks, and problems that come up during a construction process. Everytime something comes up, he would give me a call and work with me to make sure problems are resolved.
Ken finishes his work on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality. I highly recommend Ken to anyone who wants their tile and stone work done.

After a dealing with broken tiles and a very outdated bathroom for way too long, we called Ken to replace the tile surround in shower and to also tile the surround for the separate garden tub. I have to say its one of the best decisions we have made!! Ken did a great job. The new tile looks wonderful and Ken was so helpful about ways to add accents to make it look even better than we anticipated.
From the prep work to the clean up, he was professional, polite and friendly and he did everything the way he said he would and in the time frame we had set up. I think the prices are reasonable and the work was well done!
We are already making plans for our kitchen counter tops and I"m thinking the bathroom floor would look really good in tile...I'm sure we will be seeing you again!!!

Ken holds himself in a high standard of his work. He is patient when anytime needing to change things in a design or product,he adjusts to whatever i as the customer needed or wanted. He takes special care in detail and design. When asking details in whats best to use Ken is able to inform me in any product thats best to use or what he recommends in any situation i was concerned with. Due to the times with economy he is able to be flexible with your schedule and money to fit your needs..reliable and on time with schedules he sets with customers.
