FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends on the case. I probably charge a flat fee of about$2500.00 to $3500.00 for a DUI depending on what court it is in and how complicated the facts are. Felonies are usually going to be more expensive. I am willing to discuss some payment options.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
when a potential new client contacts me, I usually will conduct a twenty minute to half hour consultation over the phone. If the client is interested in talking further I will set up a face to face meeting where I can review documents, find out more about their background, and learn about their goals regarding the case. There is no charge for these initial consultations. If the client decides to hire me, I will work out the financial set-up with them and then contact the court and the prosecuting authority to get working on their case.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Criminal Justice from the University of Washington in 1987. I then attended the University of Puget Sound Law School from 1990 to 1993 and passed the Washington State bar in 1993. I began working for a criminal defense firm in Tukwila, WA and opened my own practice in 1996. My emphasis there was criminal/DUI defense and domestic relations law. In 2009 I put in some short lived stints as a public defender in Grant County and Kitsap County. In 2014 I re-opened my own practice. My background has allowed me to defend clients in at least half the counties in Washington state successfully defending clients charged with DUI, Thefts, Assaults, Drug Crimes Homicides and other crimes.
