FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our initial consultation flat fee is $200. We also offer flat fees for uncontested/agreed cases in family law, step-parent adoption, and estate planning. Besides representing people in court, we also offer coaching for people who want to represent themselves. Our hourly rates range from $75/hour at the lowest for staff up to $275 for senior attorneys. Mediation rates are lower to encourage folks to choose this less adversarial way to resolve their legal issues.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to have an initial consultation first so the client can get to know us, and us the client. There is no obligation to hire us, in fact, we will send you home with an employment agreement and do not expect you to sign anything the day you meet with us. We want you to feel comfortable with us, that our philosophy is compatible with your goals, and we want to be comfortable being an advocate for your goals. The initial consultation is about 1-2 hours and we charge a flat fee so you are not worried about the clock while you get your questions answered.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are all licensed attorneys in the state of Washington. Meredith and Gene have been trained in mediation, with Meredith having been a family mediator since 1983. Gene is a former assistant attorney general for the state of Washington and has developed relationships with all the team players in juvenile dependency law over the years that gives him an edge in resolving his cases.
