FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally start at $25/hr for standard cleaning. If the job is very far away or is going to involve extra "elbow grease," such as a very dirty home that has not been cleaned properly in some time, I may increase the rate to compensate, but I like to dialogue about this with my potential customer. I want us both to agree on a rate that is fair!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
On the first visit, I like to walk through the home with the customer and have them tell me specifically what they are looking to have done in each area. I appreciate the opportunity to ask clarifying questions and make sure we are on the same page! If there is not an opportunity to walk through the home together prior to cleaning, I like to at least speak with my prospective client on the phone to learn more about the home and the specific cleaning tasks they are looking to have done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm actually a Registered Nurse who is taking time off to be at home with my child! Does cleaning up after a toddler count as on-the-job training for house cleaning?!
