FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our fees vary based on project complexity, scope, and requested services. As a general guide, our architectural fees typically range from 5–10% of construction costs. For example: -A 500 sq ft addition with a defined scope might be around 7%. -If the same project involves more design exploration and client-led changes, it may approach 10%. -A 6,000 sq ft custom home might land closer to 5%, though extensive revisions could increase that. As a rough estimate, a $100,000 renovation would result in an architectural fee between $5,000–$10,000, depending on complexity and scope. We bill hourly for work performed, with invoices sent on the first of each month for the prior month’s work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our typical process for working with a new customer follows a clear, collaborative path: 1. **Initial Consultation** – We start with a conversation to understand your goals, site, budget, and timeline. This is where we learn what matters most to you. 2. **Proposal & Scope** – Based on that conversation, we provide a detailed proposal outlining the project scope, services, and estimated fee. 3. **Design Phase** – We begin by exploring concepts, often presenting multiple options. As we refine the design, we consider site conditions, zoning, and your feedback to guide every decision. 4. **Permit & Construction Drawings** – Once the design is finalized, we prepare detailed drawings for permitting and construction. We coordinate with structural engineers, consultants, and jurisdictions as needed. 5. **Permitting** – We submit and manage the permit process, responding to city comments and helping move things forward efficiently. 6. **Construction Support** – We stay involved during construction to answer questions, review progress, and ensure the design intent is carried through. Throughout the process, we prioritize communication, clarity, and design that reflects your values and the unique qualities of your site.
