Hi there — I’m Brian Anderson, the craftsman and artist behind Anderson Woodworks: Handcrafted Fine Furniture & Cabinets. From my shop in Yelm, Washington, in the heart of the stunning Pacific Northwest, I take great pride in creating high‑quality, artistic pieces that bring beauty, intention, and longevity into your home.
When it comes to fine furniture, I believe true quality comes from the hands. That’s why I rely on hand tools as much as possible throughout the process. The passion and energy that move from my mind, through my hands, and into the wood are what give each piece its life and character.
Every joint is hand‑cut using time‑tested techniques that have lasted for centuries. This is the kind of craftsmanship that stands the test of time — not the disposable, mass‑produced furniture destined for landfills. I want every client to feel a genuine connection to their piece, so I invite you into the process, keeping you involved as your vision takes shape.
If you share my love for timeless, handcrafted furniture and cabinets — and you’re ready to explore a commission — I’d be honored to create something just for you.

I hired Brian to build a custom built-in bookcase. It featured two tall bookcases, one floating bookcase/cupboard, one lift top bench, and all the transition pieces. It had the added complexities of requiring open slats at the bottom for an air intake vent and closing the gap between the top of the bookcases and the coved ceiling.
Brian brought my vision to life beautifully, working with me to refine the design. He found and worked with a contractor to install the pieces. And went above and beyond to ensure all the pieces came together as designed. I am immensely happy with my bookcase and Brian’s woodworking.

I worked with Anderson Woodwork's and was superbly satisfied. He was open to ideas and yet provided me the guidance I needed. Through his drafts and sketches we were able to make it work. He crafted my bride a custom bed that will never be replaced. Thank you again Anderson Woodwork's for bringing my idea to reality.

We converted our dining room into a wine lounge with a speakeasy vibe. We needed a custom wine cabinet/tower & shelves setup with specific parameters to sit on top of some cabinets we bought. Brian worked with us on design through several iterations. Production took a couple months due to a couple unforseen circumstances (wood sourcing, etc.), but the final product exceeded expectations. Brian even delivered the pieces and installed them; making two trips to get it right. He went the extra mile to ensure everything fit right and looked good. It came out great and is a key highlight to the room. Very happy with the piece.

FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process begins with your visit to your home to discuss style wood type and size. We take great pride in using our skills to help you create the furniture and rooms of your dreams.
Our goal is to have you as a customer for life and we want that process to begin with you’re feeling exited and comfortable and that you are a part of the process.
Since we know that one size does not fit all, we offer you the opportunity to customize most items to suit your lifestyle and needs. We will be happy to help you to make it just right.
When it is time to build your furniture, we start with the best materials, and out of reverence for the forests that supply us, we use only certified or U.S. hardwoods that are unthreatened and replenish able.
We begin with the labor intensive and difficult process of selecting woods for careful matching of grains and color. Joinery is often not visible but our mortise and tenon joints provide the strongest way to connect two pieces of wood.
To insure that your furniture is as pleasing to the touch as it is to the eye, we take each part through multiple hand sanding and finishing steps.
Anderson Woodwork’s signs our name to your heirloom – a true sign of pride in work well done.
