My Wisconsin projects have ranged from home staging to complete renovations; from a single bathroom transformation to whole house; from home office to commerical office and retail buildings as well as assisted living facilities.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I recommend that my clients gather photos from magazines that inspire them. Making a list of the features and furniture they have and love and want to incorporate into the new plan on a piece of paper and a list of those things that do not work on another will save time, help in understanding the situation, aid in formulating clear objectives and allow for a reasonable budget to be defined.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It is seldom that designers are simply given the keys to the house with instructions "do whatever you want". I believe that to transform clients' dreams into the beautiful and functional spaces they envision, the designer must gain a deep understanding of the client's lifestyle and goals. Ultimately therefore, I view my projects as creative collaborations. Our goals can only be achieved through communication.
