Dog training type
She worked with my dog and you can see the difference. Jumping has gotten better, but still working with my dog. I have learned a lot from her training.Jul 5, 2019Verified
Kristi is in a word Amazing! Her knowledge, compassion and kind approach to training both dog and owner makes her unique and outstanding. Highly recommend her as she’s done so much in just 2 visits and helps me trouble shoot issues along the wayJan 26, 2019Verified
Kristi is so patient and knowledgeable. She made sure I understood everything before she left. I have lots of literature and homework. Kristi is very thorough. My new rescue has never had any training and doesn't know how to function without a constant human companion. We have seen such an improvement in just 24 hrs that I know it won't be long before our fur babies get along, and Buffy learns to be a dog. Turns out we needed training as well. Kristi has been in constant contact to make sure all is going well. Such a blessing!Feb 7, 2019Verified
If we could give higher than 5 stars to Kristi we would. She is awesome! We could see improvement in Harley right away while Kristi was still training him, and showing us. She is so kind and caring. She taught us so many techniques to use, and she didn't make us feel like we were bad pet owners. We just have a puppy that has a lot of energy that needs rules and guidelines. We are looking forward to her coming back to keep us on track as well as Harley and teach us more techniques to having a well-behaved dog.Mar 5, 2018Verified
Working with Kristi has been great, our dog (Rosie) saw immediate results. We had originally tried dog classes at a highly rated facility and thought we'd get more personal training sessions as a supplement to that. Those training sessions ended up being vastly more successful. Could not recommend more!Mar 2, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Initial consultation/evaluation (3 1/2 hours) $105 nominal mileage/travel fee (add $30 for multiple dogs). This rate is the same regardless of age. Puppy (11 months and younger) Follow-up Sessions (2 hours) $45 nominal mileage/travel fee (discount for extra puppy). Adult Follow-up Sessions (2 hours) $75 nominal mileage/travel fee (discount for extra dog).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Once hired, I will follow up to schedule an initial evaluation/consultation session, which takes approximately 3 1/2 hours. The client will have some paperwork to fill out, I observe and comment on behaviors as they happen, I educate people to some basic dog psychology and principles of positive reinforcement training, and there is actual hands-on training with your dog(s). This allows you and your dog(s) to meet me and see if we are a good fit for one another. Before I leave, I provide you with some homework or things to adjust or work on prior to our next meeting. If we are working on general obedience, I make sure you and your pup know "watch me," "sit", "down" and "wait." Quite often it only takes a couple of visits and simple "tweaks" to your current routine to see vast improvement.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Accredited dog trainer with PetSmart for 3 1/2 years and now a certified professional dog trainer with my own business, established in September 2015. I am a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and Pet Professional Guild, where I participate regularly in webinars and continuing education. I am also a Pet Evaluator for Therapy Pets Unlimited and an AKC Canine Good Citizen/Star Puppy Evaluator.
