Find out as much as you can about the health professional. Ask questions about techniques used, years of practice, wheter they are licensed in the state, their training etc. You can check out their website, check with the Chamber of Commerce, whatever you need to validate their credentials. Besides all that how comfortable are you talking with them? Do they seem relaxed and confident? That is the most telling, if you are comfortable with their communication style and their skills are what you are looking for, schedule an appointment and evaluate their technique yourself. The relationship with the therapist is as valuable as all the credentials, so you be the judge!
