When Jamie the owner came out to give me an estimate of what was wrong with my deck, I told him the problems we had and showed him. I also told him there was access to underneath deck to actually see what needs to be done. He never went under or around the end of the deck to at least look through the lattice to see damage. If he had done a thorough examination he would of seen all the rot on the support beams and stringers holding the six foot privacy fence up that was being supported by bricks and steel brackets installed previously. Our steps leading down to first section of deck were rotted out and needed replacing. I took off one step to show him and expose rot. I told him I had extra left over composite he could use to redo steps and had them stacked for him. Well he didn’t use the just used the old steps that wet full of holes, to replace with. On upper section of deck I slid the board to expose the rot underneath the whole section where beams needed to be reenforced or sistered/replaced to fix this problem. He did something underneath as that problem was fixed. But the boards were not put back in the right spots causing the top edge uneven as photos will show. After they left it poured that afternoon and I had a dentist appointment so wrote him a check for $1625. We had talked about he getting back to me about Some different metal railings that could be used and said he’d get back to me Thursday. He had the measurements and description of what he was going to order but no pictures or different choices for me to pick. Then when I was able to go around and check out what they did to anchor the privacy fence as it wasn’t sturdy I saw that he used screws in the 4x4’s and anchored them into rotten wood as pictures will depict. All the debris (old wood) is still all over my yard and that was to be cleared and hauled away. The last photos were taken before the project was started and as you can see the composite boards were even not uneven as Jamie stated!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We did a cedar siding job on 6-25-15. Our customer was drop dead happy because of the quality job we did. We took our time and made sure everything was perfect. It was a great feeling for all.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always get more than one price and make sure to include everything you want out of the project. Remember the cheapest price isn't necessarily the best company to go with.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Materials and labor are not free. Everything cost money unfortunately, so be sure to discuss this with the contractor.
