Blue Grass Kennels has been in business for 25 years. We offer a full-service kennel, from field training and behavioral modification training to long-term boarding.
We also offer hunt-test training and handling for all breeds. We train the owner at the same time we train the dog. Problems other trainers have created can also be corrected.
In addition to training, Blue Grass Kennels competes in pointing dog field trials, horseback, and foot trials.
We offer extensive services that are taylored to you and your pet, we work with you to achieve the goals of modifying negative behavior. Follow up visits are needed in some cases according to the initial evaluation that is individually designed for you.
I take the time necessary to help you and your pet, so I am with you through the process! I meet the animal, evaluate the behavior, check to see if it is learned behavior, genetics, etc., which determines which type of training can be effective.

Tim was so wonderful. He is so intelligent with the work he does with animals. He taught my family and I so much in just an hour. I would recommend him to anyone in need of behavioral issues with their dog.

We met with Tim Mader this evening for assessment and training of our dog
Charlie. Both my wife and I were impressed with Tim's knowledge and his
ability to "diagnose" the problem and give us advice and direction on the
proper way to handle and/or correct our dog when he adversely reacts to
situations. Charlie was termed a "difficult to adopt" dog that we adopted
from the Humane Society. We do not have knowledge of Charlie's past, but
as Tim worked with him he was able to explain to us why he thinks Charlie
sometimes reacts to situations and why he (Charlie) is acting the way he
does with strangers. He then demonstrated to us what we need to do to
correct him. Tim is very personable, friendly, easy to talk to, and his
directions were easily understood. Both my wife and I are very appreciative
of his advice. We highly recommend Tim to anyone who has a "problem" dog
and needs direction.

Tim arrived on time and was very nice. I needed the training and Tim was excellent in showing me how to get Marley to let me walk her instead of her walking me. Also staying when guest's came to the house. She is a jumper. I told my husband that I was having a trainer come to help me walk Marley and he could do it in 10 min. Or less..my husband laughed at me. When he got home, I showed him how I could walk Marley with 1 finger on leash. I was amazed at what Tim accomplished in a short period of time. And I love to walk my dog again. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to have a better relationship with their dog. Bob and Marley thank you for training their owner. I could not be happier with the results.

I have owned my dog for just over a year and over all is a good dog, however, she is a barker and is "aggressive" with other dogs and people who walk by. She was hard to walk on a leash due to her pulling and constant barking at other dogs, rabbits, leaves or anything moving for that matter. I have tried other training methods including classes, pinch collars, and books. ... nothing worked. Within 5 mins of Tim being here, not only was I confident but so was my dog. After our session I am seeing a calm and controlled dog and I am comfortable with my dog. Thank you Tim so much for your help. You are truly amazing and a real life dog whisperer. I look forward to working with you again.
