FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is very simple. It is a flat $40/hour, and that includes all cleaning supplies. For home organizing projects, it is still a flat $40 per hour (but that doesn't include any storage containers, furniture for storage, dumpster rentals, etc.). One thing about me that is different from other cleaning services is that I do not give cookie cutter quotes or estimates based on the number of rooms or on square footage. I work this way because every home and client is unique, and I cannot predict with 100% certainty how long it will take me to clean your particular space in accordance with your preferences until I actually am in there cleaning it. This is why I charge per hour - it is simple, and it gives me the flexibility I need in order to provide services that are totally customized to each client. **NOTE: Please disregard any pricing that you see listed on Thumbtack that references a set dollar amount for 'X' number of bedrooms/bathrooms. Though I do not set my prices by this method, Thumbtack does, so I apologize for any confusion this may cause.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by having a phone conversation about what my client's needs and their budget are, and about their preferences and expectations. In terms of time expectations, it is important to note that because I work alone, it will always take me longer than it would if I had a team of 2-3 people working together. If we feel that are a good fit, then we talk about scheduling. Recurring cleanings can be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or once every four weeks. One-time cleanings can be a single cleaning or a single project that requires multiple visits - one example of this would be clients who are getting ready to sell their home and the deep cleaning gets done in stages. I also make it a point to let my clients know that I am extremely flexible in terms of what I clean at each visit, so even though clients have their priority list, there are plenty of times when I show up to clean and my client requests that I do something further down the priority list (or something not even on the list). As long as it is within the scope of what I can and will do, I am always going to do my best to honor those requests. Home organizing is always done as a team project - me + my client planning and working together. I am there to help and support my clients through the steps of sorting, throwing away (this can be VERY challenging for people!), clearing spaces, and putting things back.
