FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing derived from the time I envision your project taking to complete. If a price seems steep, ask how we can simplify your project to make it work for both of us!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to see pictures of the project and the customer’s vision for it, to be sure that the project is started on the correct foot. Then, we can determine together how to move forward! “Smaller” sewing and craft projects such as alterations and draperies can be completed in under a week. Painting will be completed in just a day or two. Larger upholstery projects can take more time, like 2 or 3 weeks, depending on scale.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Theatre Production. My emphasis within that degree was costume design & production, which provided training in clothing creation & alteration, as well as costume crafts such as knitting and dyeing. I also learned scenic construction within my degree, enabling me to do a variety of handiwork and painting tasks. For three years, I managed an alteration shop in Minnetonka, Minnesota where I honed my skills of clothing and drapery alteration. Finally, in October of 2017 I took an upholstery class which perfectly melded my love of sewing and interior design.
