Introduction: My Story I was educated as a fine artist, earning a Batchelor of Fine Arts degree from John Herron Art Institute, majoring in printmaking, minoring in photography. My career path started in a different direction, which actually helped me be a better photographer. Instead of exhibiting in galleries, I started my career as an art director with ad agencies working on national accounts, and Fortune 500 corporations on the client side. I’ve art directed many photo shoots with nationally-recognized photographers, concepting the idea, presenting to the client, then supervising the photographer to capture the image consisting of products, fashion and editorial imagery. While I love doing traditional photography, what separates me from other photographers is a couple of things: I think like a graphic artist and a marketer. Having been in advertising for 25+ years, my first question is “what kind of story are we trying to tell?”? What feeling or emotion do we want to evoke? Second, what happens after the image is captured. Photography can be expensive. Clients like to save money. Often, when art directing a photo shoot, in order to protect the budget, I would take the photo and build it into something that would be cost-prohibitive, or even impossible, to create in-camera. I’ve taken that experience and put it behind the lens. What’s your story?

George was fantastic to work with!! Our 1st session was a little rushed on my part- and my face reflected that, lol! But George was professional, kind and offered to come a second time for me to feel more comfortable! And that was it!! The pictures turned out perfect! He helped guide me to pose in ways that felt natural and helped me feel comfortable in front of the lens. If you want superior, professional pictures from a genuine, great person- George Greven is you guy!!

George is the perfect combination of professionalism and personal engagement. While working with him is always fun, he never loses that exacting, professional edge that makes his results the best in the business.

George did a great job with my professional portrait! Not only did he take his time to get the lighting perfect when in my agency but the editing he did was just a great. I am very happy with George and have been recommending him to my friends and networking partners since my experience with him.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My work is project-based- that way, my client is able to control costs. My proposal is always honored, unless the Scope of Work changes.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My process starts with an initial meeting to define the scope of work. Once the proposal is accepted, work begins. I also make sure that there are no surprises at the end of the project- unless the scope of work changes, the proposed price is what is billed. I also guarantee my work. Please call for more information.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelor of fine arts degree, John Herron Art Institute/Indiana University, with photography and printmaking major. Plus, 25+ years art directing photo shoots for fortune 100 companies (Capital One, Domino's Pizza, etc.)
