FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, it is an hourly rate that goes down as the length of the booked event gets longer. The rate per hour for a 10 hour wedding is less than it is for a 4 hour wedding. This is because a shorter event will bring in less revenue overall making it more difficult to cover all costs and expenses of doing business. Also because with a longer event the total costs for the client are significantly higher, so by reducing the hourly rate we are keeping the total cost as affordable as possible while remaining competitive. The total price for a session can also can be reduced if other sessions or products are added to the contract in a package deal. Again because the costs of doing business are covered with additional revenue we do what we can to keep it as affordable as possible as the clients costs go up.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Well, no matter how we are introduced to each other, a face to face meeting is the best approach. That way we each know who we are dealing with and can become more comfortable and familiar with each other. We can discuss your needs as the customer and my approach to photography and how it can help you attain your goals. I will show you my website and portfolio, then review my pricing and discuss any possible package options that might fit your situation. All packages and pricing can be adjusted based on your situation. If we both feel that we are a good fit for each other professionally then we discuss final details of a contract that is written to protect both of our interests and establish what is covered and what the costs involved are as well as any special requests. After all the business is done we can then move on to the photography and capturing those special moments and memories.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taught using numerous photography books, websites, magazines and seminars. Have also begun taking classes through New York Institute of Photography to solidify my knowledge base.
