With Storyteller Videography, I've decided to provide added value to my clients by committing to telling a deeper story. This requires additional shooting time to make a more meaningful movie. However, you'll find that we are still competitive with what others are charging in the Twin Cities who are doing quality wedding films. Similar price, but a much more personalized story. We hate "cookie cutter" wedding video! Seeing the final result... as a painter sits back and enjoys what he created on canvas, seeing what can be done with unused footage and photos is exciting. Put another way, it's not unlike taking the ingredients for a meal home from the store. While they can be enjoyed separately, they are truely memorable when mixed by the hands of a fine chef. I aspire to be that fine chef with your raw footage.

Mike provided videography for our wedding. He was incredible to work with during the whole process. Prior to the wedding he was quick to respond to my questions and emails, he arrived at the wedding and captured everything I could have hoped for and the finished product was perfect. The post office was not kind to our first DVD and Mike responded to my email within hours and had a new one in the mail right away. His videography and service is remarkable.

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done a number of trainings with those at the top of the videography field. It's important to stay on top of the latest techniques, not only in the "nuts and bolts" of editing, but in story telling and being a true film maker!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been doing video editing for 25 years "on the side" and teaching full time in an urban setting for 19 years. After accepting the early retirement package offered by SPPS in 2011, I've jumped into offering my video services full time! My desire to tell deeper stories (after working on more traditional wedding "music videos") has led me to launch Storyteller Videography in the fall of 2013.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Know what you're looking for. In the field of videography, there are so many options, styles and quality levels. Like everything, great videography may cost a bit more, but in the same way you'll regret skimping on your photographer, you'll regret getting videography "on the cheap." Try to shop quality, not cost. I'll compete with anyone on product, but I won't compete on price.
