- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Travel billing is based on distance from Stevens Point. Anything within 20 miles of Stevens Point is $40. Beyond 20 miles, the travel charge will be calculated at $1 per mile, round trip. Time on site is billed at $80 per hour, in 15 minute increments. I offer a discounted labor rate of $72/hr. for US military service (active and retired) and first responders.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have a conversation with a customer about their needs, via their communication preference (voice, text, or email). Once I have this information, I may or may not ask to do a site survey. After a conversation and/or site survey, I can determine what, if any, parts are needed. Depending on the project, I may or may not already have parts in stock, which will determine how soon I can schedule an installation appointment. If shipping lead time isn't a factor, I can usually schedule an appointment within a week, if not within days.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to a life-long interest in computers and electronics, I have an associates degree in audio engineering, an IT certification (Snap One/Araknis Professional Certified Network Administrator), and over 15 years of experience in the audiovisual and information technology industries.
