FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was about seven years old and went with my uncle to pick up tools at a church he was working on. The project impressed me, and as time went on family members spoke well of tradesmen. I thought I would try it and here I am. I have not built a church, but have done remodeling of churches. I took a carpenter apprenticeship and ended up doing mostly residential work and remodeling of some of the stately homes in the area.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most jobs come about because of some kind of problem. It could be a better utilization of space. Energy costs have driven many people to find ways to conserve. Bathroom work usually is because several things such a drywall, cabinet work, and fixtures need upgrading. Kitchen work is usually because the cabinet finishes are poor, or drawers are not working. Some times a family out grows space needs. We are able to solve all of these problems.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We took on a project that amounted to a whole house remodel and addition. The additional space was larger than the original house. We designed the project to fit the owners wishes. We put in a kitchen, open stair cases, three bathrooms, a family room addition, a two car garage with a bedroom above, and a large deck with a gazebo. It turned out that the owner owns several properties which she now has us work on occasionally.
