FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat monthly fee, as opposed to the more common "per-lesson" fee. For my students, this has proven very convenient because it does not penalize for missed lessons, and your monthly rate is, on average, lower than if you paid for every week individually.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I conduct an interview with the student (and their parents, if the student is a child). During this meeting, I discover the student's preferred learning style, and we determine long-term goals and establish a plan of action. All students receive a thorough explanation of attendance and billing policies, and are given access to a web portal where they can manage their accounts, review their lesson notes, and check their schedules.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always keeping abreast of ideas and trends in music education. I also perform regularly, and performances are the ultimate education for a music instructor; they represent the end goal of my students.
