About
I really enjoy the work that I do. I have been building, restoring, and designing most of my life. I have 30 plus years experience in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, painting and am a Licensed Journeyman electrician. When I look at a project I am able to see it from most aspects of the construction process. That being said, it enables me to better understand what the customer wants and to ask the right questions when I don't fully understand. I am humble enough to always ask for advise from other professionals and to do the research that is needed to get all the questions answered.
With every job that I complete there is a little part of me and my family legacy left for future generations.

I hired Steve to do painting in a bed room/ office and I must say I have never had someone paint for me like he did. he was always on time and if he was going to be late he notified me to the change. No matter what I asked of him he never hesitated to do as I asked. I will most definitely use him again as my needs for a handyman arise. I am totally impressed and I would recommend him to anyone....Thank You Steve!

We had just bought our first house and needed some stairs installed as they were unfinished and meant to be carpeted. Not only did Steve do an amazing job with our stairs, he went above and beyond to make sure we were situated in our new home - mounting TVs, fixing electrical work, and more. Pricing was more than fair, and the work was a quality job. We will definitely continue to go back to Steve with any future handyman needs and you should too!

Steve did a fantastic job painting our garage door. He was very methodical and didn't rush things. He is very professional and courteous. We love how the door turned out!

Mr. Hartley responded quickly and came by my home to give an estimate on my many jobs. The first day he assembled my curio cabinet right away. His work was very careful of both the cabinet and my floor where he was working. He will be coming back to complete more jobs. His price is very reasonable.

Steve was great to work with. He did several projects for my recently purchased home (new door, washer/dryer vent and hookups, electrical work, subfloor repair) and I'm very happy with the services. I will be reaching out to Steve for my future projects, thank you!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The pricing for my services varies with the type of project and skill sets involved. I keep my prices 10 to 15 percent below the national average and do adjust them to accommodate some economic challenges. Jobs under $1,000.00 are bid in most cases. Jobs over this amount are bid plus hourly if there are unknown costs such as demolition or subcontractor involvement.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I first offer them the chance to ask me questions and then provide answers. I will next attempt to gather the basic info on the work they want done. If the project or repairs are within my skill set I will propose a plan of approach to reach a successful completion of the project while staying within the given budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the construction trades for more than 30 years and have gained 90 percent of my training on-the-job. I earned a Journeyman electrical license through training and education in the IBEW in 1992.
