We have a large wooden table that somebody thought it would be okay to steam a wedding dress on. This resulted in a very large, white, cloudy mess. John came and took care of it and it looks beautiful! He was professional, knowledgeable and reasonable with his charge and we are very very happy!!!

Excellent service, excellent work, excellent people! I had bedroom furniture that I tried to refinish myself and made a mess of. John refinished the furniture and it looks even better than when we bought it. They finished weeks earlier than they told us and we were thrilled! I highly recommend John Mark Power Antiques Restoration.

I'm not sure my review came through so I will post again. I was very satisfied with John Mark Power. What he promised came through in time and workmanship. I had a dining room table and chairs refinished and repairs. My furniture looks like brand new. My set was purchased in 1977. I was unsure if to get rid of it or have it refinished and parts fixed that had come loose. I am so glad I decided to have the work done instead. I was very impressed with the time frame I was given and it was met. His workmanship was above all others. I would highly recommend John Mark Power for restoration services. I am one very happy client.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do, but pricing is based on the type of furniture and the work that needs to be done. It is a bit too much info to put down here!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically like to talk over the phone or email to get a sense of the work. I then usually like to see the piece or at lease some photos before I give a binding estimate. I love to chat as it is easier to establish what exactly needs to be done, so don't hesitate to give me a call
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in this field for many years and primarily trained in a shop working for customers including embassies, antique dealers in Washington, the National Gallery of Art, and Dumbarton Oaks. That being said, No job is too small and I work on modern furniture as well as antiques.
