My work is different because I am completely hands on with everything. I not only own the business I also take care of all communication with past,present and future clients. I do not have employees so all of the work is started and completed by me. By doing this I have a lower overhead and I can also guarantee that the quality of the work will always be up to my high standards.
I truly enjoy the challenge of taking a homeowner's vision of the way they want a room to look and making that vision become a reality with my skills as a painter. I also enjoy meeting and getting to know so many different types of people. It is very rewarding to build an ongoing business relationship that could last a lifetime.

I was lucky enough to find George's business card through our home builder and gave him a call. He painted our large, two-story family room and kitchen. George is extremely polite and professional, easy-going and truly thoughtful about the projects, home-owners needs, belongings and budgets (ours was tight). He worked alone, incredibly fast, with great attention to detail for a more than reasonable price, especially when compared to his competition (we had three other companies come to the house for estimates before choosing GWH). I've always considered myself a good painter, so I paid special attention to how George finished corners, lines and whether he left streaks on wall surfaces - my husband and I were floored by the results. We ended up recommending George to multiple friends and neighbors who were as pleased as we were and invited him back a few months later to paint our two-story foyer, hallway and large master bed-room with tray-ceiling. Again, he worked quickly and didn't even wake our sleeping toddler! Besides his obvious skill, George is just a nice guy who's a treat to talk with and who has a trait that's so often hard to find nowadays - strong work-ethic!! You'd be missing out not to hire this sure-thing.

GWH Custom Painting is absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend getting a quotation from George and utilizing his services.
You'll find his prices to be excellent and his estimation for time to be dead on. George's attention to detail is exceptional and he is a pro at custom multi-color jobs.
I had living room walls and ceilings that were bright orange, and a two story staircase in another color. The ceilings are now white, and I have each wall a different shade of dark brown (espresso, truffle and dark chocolate) with one color going up the staircase to the top floor hallway. My living room now looks like it came out of a home decorating magazine!!
If you are considering hiring GWH you should also know that my dogs were safe and so were my home and my belongings. I did not have to worry one bit and could go to work or out to run errands while GWH was there. Nothing is better than knowing you can hire someone so trustworthy AND that can do such an amazing job!
I recommend GWH and would use his services again. A++

We worked with George last year when we moved to the area. We had several painters out for estimates and his was the most reasonable. Not to mention that we were able to get a quote per room which helped us prioritize what work we wanted to have done. This was a huge help!
As for the painting, well, I have nothing but great things to say. George is very detailed oriented and made suggestions along the way. He also worked with us when one of the colors we selected didn't turn out the way we expected. We absolutely love the work he did and will hire him again in the future.
He is definitely the painter to hire!

We moved to Clarke County in 2011 and decided to remodel our home. We found George through the internet, he came to the house and we explained what we needed. Finding the correct colors for your interior home can be difficult, with George's experience I found the colors which I adore. We liked him so much we have hired him again to do another painting job for an additional remodel.

I live in Shepherdstown and have been using GWH Custom Painting for many years now. George painted our house several years ago and did an outstanding -- indeed a painstaking -- job. In successive years he has painted our metal roof, our high-ceilinged kitchen, sealed our decks and several times has power-washed our house. All of these were done with the same high level of care.
George is honest, reliable, fairly priced, and is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work.
...now, if only I could find an electrician and a carpenter like George!
