FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would first like to meet with the customer to talk about songs they would like to be played, hours, payment, and any specifics they request for the performance. I will bring my violin either to this meeting, or to a rehearsal depending on the preference of the customer, so that they can hear in person what the music will sound like and request any adjustments they would like to have made.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken violin lessons since age 3 and have continued playing for 15 years. I most recently took lessons with Suzuki Violinists of Western New York, which uses the Suzuki method of teaching for all students. I also played for a year with the Greater Buffalo Youth String Orchestra as principle chair for the second violins.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Twice a year while taking lessons it was a requirement to perform in a solo concert, and usually once a year we would have a group concert. Typically classical music is played for solo concerts while the group concerts usually focused on a theme like movie music for example. From a young age I have been on stage performing for an audience either by myself or with other musicians.
