- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Normally carpet and vinyl sheetgoods are sold by the square yard both for the product and for the installation. Everything else, such as ceramic tile, laminate, hardwood, luxury vinyl tile and plank, and vinyl composition tile are sold by the square foot.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually I speak with the customer on the phone to get the generalities of their project, what products they are looking for, and to set an appointment for an on-site quote. At this time, I would provide them with samples to choose from and usually a firm price. We can also set a time for an install date and finalize any details.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The owner of the company has over 50 years of experience and is still installing today at the age of 72! His son has been involved with the business for 25 years and is now the president of the company. The owner's wife is my sister and I have worked for them on and off for over 30 years in both sales and installation. We constantly stay up with the times by attending trade shows and seminars and keeping in contact with our sales representatives.
