FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I value having a standard pricing system; nevertheless, my sales experience has taught me that value cannot be fully represented by a number on a screen and a brief description of what it covers. Therefore, I tend to customize my quotes based on the level of service the client requires. Some clients may simply want a couple photos taken of them with their family and want very little little post processing done, and therefore it would be unfair to charge a fee that would also go into in-depth and/or expedited editing. During the initial meeting, my goal is to discuss the photography process in-depth and tailor the quote to best fit the client's needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically will suggest a meet-and-greet so that the client and I can establish some rapport, discuss particular details of the photography they are seeking, and address all questions and concerns they may have about the process. I try to keep the process as comfortable and positive as possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I have little formal training with my photography specifically, I have taken college courses in both photography and portraiture. I am a psychology major and plan to get my master's is social work, so I have had formal training experience in communication and helping clients be comfortable in situations they may feel vulnerable in. Lastly, most of my work experience is in retail sales and customer service.
