Introduction: I am a music teacher with 5 years of teaching experience and 10 years of performance experience, as well as two degrees in voice, piano, and music history. I have taught in individual lessons, group lessons, and in school classrooms. I have taught anyone from beginners, just learning about music, to people looking to advance their skills. No one is too old to learn about music! (But there is such a thing as too young, contact me with questions about when to start piano, voice or theory lessons). A lesson with me not only includes learning piano or vocal skills, but also dabbles in the history of the music being played, and music theory lessons to help the student become a smart musician, not just a good performer.
I take great pride in my attention to structure and safety, so before taking on any new student, I would love to meet with them or their parents to discuss what the goals for taking lessons would be, whether that's to generate love of a new hobby, or start thinking about a career in music. It's my job to help you get what you want out of music lessons! Also, if your child is a minor, I have my teaching clearances up to date, and am cleared by the state to teach in individual and group settings.
