Introduction: My ability to listen, analyze and problem solve has developed into a successful career as a business writer, marketing communications professional and publicist. My approach is to learn about your goals and objectives, then translate concepts into messaging that captivates and motivates. And we do it through collaboration and creativity. My marketing communication experience includes advertising copywriting, web content, public relations writing and distribution, communications planning and implementation. If there are words involved, I have most likely written it: from scripts, ghostwriting and powerpoint, to advertorials, features, social media marketing and blogging. With a background in journalism and radio production, my web content writing is naturally organic and SEO and keyword rich. Should you have long-range goals that require a written, strategic communications plan, I follow the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) method which can include multi-channel/cross-channel marketing campaigns (paid advertising, earned media and public relations/promotion, and social, etc), along with a timeline and budgets. The plan also includes coordination and implementation, if needed, and I can fill in the holes if you have a marketing department or you are the director in need of assistance. In addition to these services, I also offer three types of editing: Proofreading, Copy Editing and Line Editing (Substantial). I usually follow AP style for press and Chicago Manual of Style for consumer-oriented or feature. I'm a storyteller, so I like helping people tell their story. It's enjoyable to learn about new products and services and help businesses, organizations and individuals to craft their messaging and brand.

I have worked with Gary on a number of occasions for consulting on creative projects. He is one of the professional marketing and public relations experts I can rely on for fast results and in-depth knowledge of the industry. I also invited Gary to speak to my marketing class at Mountain BizWorks where he charmed the group with his wit and humor, while teaching them the ins and outs of the business of public relations. Working with Gary is always fun and he knows how to get the job done, on time and within budget. Gary also has helped me write proposals for clients I was in working with and helped me develop content for my website. I utilize Gary's services because he's professional, friendly and always delivers on what he says he will, on time and on budget. Most of my budgeting needs fall in the $1000-$2,000 range. Gary has helped John Cannon Homes with creative ideas for features and advertorials (one winning “best of” in the national 2015 Hermes Awards) and for publications such as Tampa Bay Magazine, Private Air and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, (and our own quarterly magazine). Each form has a slightly different style, and he has the ability to write “in our voice,” meaning he can put into words the way we would write it ourselves - and I think it’s because he has taken the time to research and learn about our company. He writes news releases for us using “best practices,” optimizing keywords for online search, format and style so our news gets high visibility. And he's also helped out when I’ve needed edits or content for the web. For 2 years we’ve retained him for writing and creative services and I consider him a member of our creative and marketing team though he is located 1000 miles away.
