Introduction: Hola!
My name is Michelle and I am a certified K-12 Spanish teacher. I am currently an elementary school and high school Spanish teacher in a local district. Learning Spanish has always been a passion of mine and I find myself wanting to share that passion with others even outside of my classroom.
I am not a native speaker although I have lived in Spain, Guatemala, and Ecuador and I learned Spanish through textbooks, classes, and lots of practice. This may seem like a negative (to not have a native tutor). However, I find it as a huge positive. I am a TEACHER at heart. I know what it is like to learn Spanish as a native English speaker and I use that knowledge to connect with and best teach my students.
In the past I have tutored lawyers, medical professionals, travelers, families. I have led group classes for insurance companies and real estate developers. Currently my tutoring load has been lightened because my students do not need me so much anymore (which is awesome!)
I have excellent references and truly enjoy what I do. I do use my Spanish tutoring as a supplemental income: however, if I had all of the money in the world, I would teach language and culture to everyone open to it for free.
Please feel free to email me if you are interested in having a Spanish lesson. I look forward to hearing from you.
"Michelle has the unique ability to teach to whatever level you are at, while still pushing you to advance. Her style of teaching is different than any other teacher I have encountered because she tailors lessons to fit my learning style and ability. She is a gifted teacher and I have improved my Spanish a lot by taking lessons from her."-Current student
I love absolutely everything about teaching Spanish. I love the language, people, communities, food, music, dance, etc. and I love sharing my passion with others who feel the same!
