Introduction: I play a variety of styles, from rock and blues to gypsy jazz, bebop, free jazz and contemporary classical music. I studied composition and jazz guitar at the Peabody Institute. I believe that the most important aspect of music is sharing it with others, be that via performing or teaching. Spreading positivity with sound is the main goal - whether it is performing for others on a stage, helping rehearsals to run smoothly or teaching others, there are few things more rewarding.

I took several lessons from Nick this previous summer. My experience was stellar. I came to him with some experience playing the guitar but was not able to play as well as I wanted. Nick was very patient and quickly determined what I didn't understand and filled the gaps in my knowledge. I went from being barely able to keep along when playing with friends to being able to lead in jam sessions. Nick also explained much of the theory behind what I was playing and I feel like my understanding of what I'm playing is light years ahead of what it was before. Nick was quick to answer any question I threw him in a way that was easy for me to understand. I would recommend Nick to beginner and experienced guitarists alike and am positive it would benefit their playing.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $35 per hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The most important thing when working with a new customer is to get an idea of what the student wants. If they want to be able to play songs by their favorite artists, we would start by listening to their music and learning how the songs fit together. If a student wants to learn to improvise and solo, we'd work on basic theory and phrasing. For all students I think technique is very important so that they do not become injured and can make the best sound possible.

Have studied performing, education, composition and music theory for my entire life.
