Introduction: Simply stated, my clients get better. Lots of people go into therapy with high hopes and leave disappointed or discouraged because they didn't get the outcome they wanted. I don't have that experience. People reach their goals because they feel safe and supported with me, while being gently guided and challenged toward life transformation, healing and hope. My clients also frequently say they feel I never judge them, no matter what they say or do which gives them freedom to explore what's really going on without fear of being condemned or belittled. I am really passionate about meeting people exactly where they are, genuinely accepting them and seeing the true potential that lives within them. I believe every person is valuable and has much to contribute to the world. I love helping clients realize who they are and helping them become that person. It's amazing to see people's lives transform as their perspectives shift. People come alive and find they can experience a life filled with vitality.

Ive been to counseling for a long time and never felt like anyone really helped me get better, but Amanda is good. I feel better and I made lots of big changes with her help. She actually cares about me and listens to me and helps me figure myself out and learn coping skills to do better.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is usually $100. I do make income-based reductions in price.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free intake phone consultation to discuss your needs and to determine if we are a good fit. Then, we schedule an assessment to allow me to better get to know you and your unique needs. I will be able to generate a clearer definition of the problem and make recommendations to you for treatment. Typically, the primary recommendation is weekly, one hour sessions (the amount of time required to reach goals varies). In the second session, we discuss a treatment plan that will enable us to map out the steps to success. In the following sessions we will be working on the objectives we indentified together in your treatment plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Illinois. I have specialized training in trauma and stress as well as experience treating emotional, behavioral, substance and relational issues.
