Joshua was amazing with my families two dogs. He genuinely cares about the dogs he works with and is great with them. Our puppy is doing so much better and has come such a long way thanks to him. Even after the training sessions were complete Joshua was still there months later to help me with any questions or concerns that I had. Would recommend Backcountry K-9 to everyone who is looking for a very experienced and caring trainer. Thank you!Aug 7, 2018Verified
Josh is an amazing trainer and very dedicated. He was able to try many different methods of training when one didn't work for our dog.Mar 9, 2018Verified
From the first meeting it was evident that this was the trainer I needed. He understood my dog and it was amazing how my dog responded. Excellent! Can’t wait to get started!Jan 6, 2018Verified
Backcountry K-9 is the trainer you need! The Short Review: Working with Backcountry K-9 was easy and productive. Josh, the trainer is professional, approachable, punctual and reasonable. We highly recommend working with this trainer. The Long Review: Our dog Onyx loves to run and play but since we do not have a fence it was so hard for him to enjoy our large yard. We knew we needed off leash and advanced obedience training and after interviewing several trainers we decided to work with Josh and we could not be more thrilled with our choice. Josh worked so well with Onyx from day one and he is very professional. Josh listened to all of our concerns and goals and helped us to resolve and reach each of them. We began with a dog who would rush visitors at the door, chase anything that moved in the yard and only listened to my husband. Now we have a well mannered and good listening dog. We now go on hikes and play endlessly in the open yard. I don't worry about Onyx not listening to me anymore. The e-collar is even better then I could have imagined. I feel so confident having him off leash now. Everyone we interact with has noticed a change in Onyx's behavior for the better. The compliments on our well behaved boy are so welcome. He is calmer in public spaces and so great with our guests now. He truly is a joy to have in any situation now. Josh has really helped us to love our life with Onyx even more. This training is worth the investment of time and money. In my honest opinion this training is a steal! If you have hesitations I suggest you meet with Josh. You will not hesitate once you and your dog get to meet him.Mar 27, 2019Verified
Josh & Backcountry K9 is THE BEST!!! We just finished our 8 week training program with our 1.5 year old Pomsky Kodi and the results are outstanding! Kodi had a bad case of guarding aggression and would go to bite if he got a hold of something he wasn't supposed to have or would swallow whatever he had (socks, underwear, plastic bottle tops, garbage, etc). He also got super aggressive with certain toys and treats. He was also a leash puller, jumper and escape artist. Today, he is a completely different dog! No more aggressive behavior, drops/leaves things with just a verbal command, doesn't jump on guests, no more leash pulling and he can even walk off leash with us now and we no longer have the fear of him running away. I would 100% recommend Backcountry K9 Training to anyone!! Truly the best and we cannot thank Josh enough!!Mar 9, 2018Verified
