FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For standard weekly meal prep: Though the needs of the client dictate the workload and time invested, a typical package of shopping, food cost, preparation, and travel, comes out to be 150/week. This is one day of work, varying in time, not exceeded by 7-8 hours. Again, the amount of product produced varies by family size, but on the low end, 14 single serve units of 2 different meals can easily be achieved. This is a very negotiable process, and I always aim to give customers as much finished product as possible with the given resources. Other services such as cooking lessons, Par-prep'd meals, and Pinterest meals are priced hourly at $15-20/hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I try to assess the client's needs first, because what I do is such a custom work. Different people need different things; maybe it's something healthy but satisfying to eat at the office, perhaps a dinner made with food intolerances in mind, breakfast that's easy to take out the door, or even a specific meal plan to adhere to for a workout routine. These are just some of the endless possibilities that I like to chat about to discover how I can make a customer's life easier, and yummier. Next is how often this is needed, whether I shop for the ingredients, and in what quantity. Such aspects are what lead me to my pricing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have both a Culinary Arts Degree from the Art Institute of Colorado, and industry experience, working in restaurants exclusively since 2010. In 2014 I began as a personal chef, doing weekly meal prep, and cooking intimate gatherings.
