Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Over ten years of self defense, hand to hand combat, weapons skills (licensed to carry), professional experience in security operations, and high attention to detail. When it comes to teaching, seeing someones confidence grow with the skills they learn, and knowing they have the ability to now protect themselves or loved ones is rewarding. As a body guard, i get to utilize my skills and be what they need, safety. I have succeeded when at the end of the day we can both return home unharmed.

After some issues with my ex fiance, I found Alex had classes for self defence. I expected him to be some karate instruor with contracts or some big scary dude who wanted to "teach me wrestling"), but instead he was a very professional, understanding and down to earth guy. He asked the type I wanted, (sport fighting, personal issues, or just basic knowledge), and helped teach me not only ways to protect myself, but also ways to avoid bad situations and ways to talk down fights. Thankfully, I haven't needed to physically protect myself yet, but the confidence that I have now has made me less afraid.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

For "travel to you" self defense courses, classes come in sixty or ninety minute blocks (goal planning and discussion is free) for a dollar a minute, paid at beginning of class. Body guard and protection services begin at sixty an hour, and varies depending on multiple factors, such as danger level, outcome projections, overall tasks required.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Everyone has a different starting point, needs and pace. When teaching a new client, communication is key. We generally discuss what they want to accomplish, the reasons for needing classes, their learning process, (Do-er? Watcher? Listener?) and goals. We then go from there.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have over 10 years applied experience in hand to hand combat, and self defense, both teaching and using. I also have experience with concealed weapons and have completed safety courses, and passed license tests. Working professionally in security has also given me a danger sense, acute attention to detail, and body language interpretation skills. I know how to diffuse situations, as well as how to end them swiftly.
