I called them for a free inspection to check my windows as I had condensation on the inside pane of my windows-not between the double panes. The recommendation was to check my thermostat and furnace for the humidity level -as it was possibly too high which creates condensation on the inside pane of my windows. They explained if the condensation or fogginess was between the double panes then that would be caused by a window seal failure. Their honesty was refreshing and also very appealing-especially compared to what I heard from another very well known/national window/door company rep.(referred to me by my neighbor) who told me "it was hard to know why I had condensation" and then just gave me an estimate for replacement windows they scratched out on a scrap piece of paper. Like that was a valid estimate? Pretty unprofessional if not downright shady if you ask me.
Universal Windows alsolooked at my sliding glass patio door as it lets in a lot of coldness in the Winter. From my own comparison shopping, I had already determined I had a lower quality builder-grade door and there were much better doors available being made today as compared to ten years ago. They were very professional when examining the door and showing me several options /styles. They also showed me how much more warmer in the winter and cooler in the Summer my house will be once I replace the low quality door with a much higher quality door-not to mention the money I will save from not having all the energy (heat/A/C) escaping through my door! I will be replacing the patio door this Fall after my deck is rebuilt!
