FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Consulting is quoted on a case-by-case basis. New construction and remodeling projects are quoted with a percentage range of 9%-15% of construction cost. Larger projects fall at the lower end of the percentage range. The price is given as a guaranteed maximum, billed at regular intervals and never to exceed with maximum percentage per the terms of our contract. All terms and conditions are laid out clearly as we begin to work together.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Here is an outline of the typical project process with our valued clients: 1. Free initial consultation (via phone or in person) An hour long exploration of your project's goals, timelines and stylistic preferences. 2. Schematic Design Based on our conversations, schematic level options are presented to meet your requirements and desires. We have an iterative process where we refine the layouts and plans until you are happy. 3. Design Development After the general layout is agreed upon, we get into the details and lock-in preferences and choices to arrive at the best possible scenario for your goals and budget. 4. Construction Estimate When the Design Development stage is complete, if you want to pursue a qoute, we get a ballpark estimate to make sure we are in the right zone for how the project and budget are meeting up. 5. Construction Documents Upon agreeing on the ballpark estimate and Design Development ideas, we move forward with drawings to get your project constructed. We can provide the necessary drawings to get a building permit or to have a builder start construction is a permit isn't necessary. 6. Construction Administration Should you want to hire us to oversee the construction, we can provide job-site visits and make sure the design is being constructed according to the project documents we've worked together to produce. 7. Your project is complete! Enjoy the results of the design and build process in your newly updated or constructed place!
