FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically I charge a base price of $70 and that's for a basic groom of a bath, nails, haircut, custom shampoo and teeth brushing and a bow or bandana. Now if the dog is challenging or larger than I may charge a little more depending on the circumstances
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
On the first visit I like to interview the pet parent in an attempt to learn as much as possible about their dog. I also like to introduce myself to the dogs. Here Comes the Groom is a full service mobile grooming salon. I come to you with everything I need, provided there is a place to park (approximately 32' needed). My full grooming service includes a warm water massaging bath with quality shampoo, luxury facial, fluff dry (no cages ever), ears cleaned, nails trimmed and filed (if tolerated) and haircut with finishing fragrance and accessory. The initial appointment is per hour providing all inclusive services, once the pet is on a regular 4/6/8 week schedule, a more specific price can be determined. The appointment should take approximately 90 minutes barring that the pet is not excessively matted and is well behaved for grooming. Please let me know if you have additional questions or would like to schedule an appointment. Thanks- Wendy (Here Comes the Groom)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had dogs my entire life, as a child I was in charge of bathing and taking care of our animals as part of my childhood learning responsibilities. Then later on in life, after raising children and already working in another industry, it was recommended to me to get into the pet industry of some kind because I have two dogs and I'm very active with them. We hike, we go to events, we do walks etc so that led me into the corporate world of grooming which allowed me 2 years of experience from the ground up and when I say the ground I mean literally on the floor bathing big dogs for a year learning all about skin conditions, shampoos, handling skills etc. then an intense course to learn haircuts. I took it a step further and have continued my education By going to shows attending classes constantly learning online joining Facebook pages with groom Team USA and the master Groomers of the industry.
